Growing since 1952 – JC’s Country Fresh Produce is a family run business providing fresh, quality produce to local supermarket chains and to leading provincial markets around the UK.
The Best Farming Land in Lancashire
Country Fresh Produce has expanded substantially in recent years, and now has in excess of 18 acres of glasshouse on site.
Each glasshouse is equipped with the latest irrigation technology and frost protection heating systems allow for continued cropping 12 months of the year.
In recent years, we have seen issues impacting the import market, whether it be regarding security at the Channel Tunnel or outbreaks of Salmonella or E-coli from fresh produce exporting countries have a dramatic affect on price and supply here in the UK during the winter cropping season November – April.
The vast size of the farm now allows for easy continuity of supply even during the winter months and more importantly the holiday season – where large volume and steady supply of high quality local produce is what our customers can depend on.

Grown under glass this baby lettuce comes with a crisp and sweet flavour, much cleaner and sweeter than traditional outdoor grown gem.

Grown under glass with large green leaves on the outside and a lighter colour towards its heart, this provides a soft texture with a mild, watery fresh taste.

Grown outside and produces a tight heart, comprised of thick walled leaves which provide a great texture and exceptional crunch.

Grown outside and produces a tall long head of sturdy leaves with a firm rib down the centre.
Available from June – November
Grown under glass for early crops and then outdoors for the remainder of the growing season. Celery is a green vegetable grown for its stalks.

Beetroot is a root vegetable with dark, purple skin and pink/purple flesh. Its earthy, rich and sweet flavor and vibrant colour lends itself to a variety of both sweet and savoury dishes.

Distinguished by its heavily textured, crinkled leaves. Its outer leaves are its toughest as they protect the plant from the elements during the winter season.

Dense, heavy cabbage, with pale green leaves on the outside but then turning to a white colour at its centre.

Long white cylindrical stalk comprised of many layers that flows into green, tightly wrapped flat leaves. They feature a fragrant flavor that is reminiscent of shallots but sweeter and more subtle.

Grown under glass and kept clean, pak choi leaves are soft and succulent, with crunchy white or green stalks. The whole plant is edible.

Grown under glass this is a great alternative to iceberg in the winter months. It provides a crunchy texture with a nice decorative leaf shape.

Grown under glass Choy Sum has a broader stalk with an appearance that looks the similar to Bok Choy, except it contains smaller flowering stalks in the center of the green which are edible.
